should always protectthemselves with full PPE (Including o
SCBA) and take oppropriate measures to protectcivilians
downwind from the Incldent. Usefog streams or posltive-
pressure ventllatlon fans (PPV) to dlrect smoke and vapors.

Ensure any fires have been adequately knocked down befor8
entering a hot zone. Heat and flames can compromise airbag
inflators, stored gas inflation cylinders, gas struts, and other
components. which can result in an unexpected explosion.

not make contactwith any high-voltage components.
Use a thermal Imaglng camera to meosurethetemperature of
the high-voltage battery and monitor heating or cooling trends.
Before releasing thevohicle to second responders (such as
lawenforcement orvehicle transporters) orotherwise leaving
the incident,the battery must be completelycooled with nofire,
smoke, or heating presentforat leastone hour.Always notify
second responders of the risk of battery re-ignition.
